
Cheer tryouts are tomorrow (Friday, March 28th, 2025). Candidates will try out in front of the student body at 11:10am in the high school gym. This portion of the try out is open to the public.

The Wellington Tennis Tournament concluded today with another championship. Ingrid Granadoz and Kambrie Fisher finished in 1st place in Girls Doubles. 🚀🎾🥇

Teen Miss Wellington 2024 Jorgia O'Rear would like to remind you the deadline to sign up for Little Miss, Junior Miss and Teen Miss Wellington is THIS Friday, March 28th! These pageants are open to K-8th grade Wellington girls and will take place Sunday, April 6th beginning at 2:00 pm. Late entries will NOT be accepted.

WHS Senior, Caleb Strickland, was honored with a dinner tonight by the La Paisana Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for being this year's Good Citizen. Caleb is now their representative in the national essay contest. After dinner, Caleb read his essay to those in attendance. School personnel present were Caleb's English teacher Karoline Ashmore, Caleb's Math teacher Donna Thaten, high school counselor Ashly Cantu and principal, Jermaine Cantu. He was presented his award by DAR member and his grandmother, Margret Wood and Czrena Watts, DAR Regent and WHS teacher. Caleb is the son of Rusty and Alison Strickland. Congratulations Caleb! 🚀

The WHS Esports team competed in the Region 16 Invitational today in Amarillo. The sponsor for today’s team was Erin Smith. Here is the list of our competitors and results from today. A * indicates a state qualifier from today.
Super Smash Bros (this was an individual game): *Jontae Roland-3rd place, Zach Garcia, Logan Marshall, Aladdin Rodriguez, and Rosalind Stiles.
Valorant finished as the 3rd place team. The team included Timothy Cantu, Jackson Jones, Logan Marshall, Anthony Ortiz, and Christopher Reyes.
*Overwatch finished as the 2nd place team giving all a state invitation. The team included Jaci Porter, Jontae Roland, Jacob Klassen, Benji Garcia and Trinidad Cantu.

Not only did our Wellington Rockets make the finals competing against many 4A and 5A schools at the Amarillo Relays this weekend, but we finished in fourth place in the mile relay this evening. We were behind Dumas, Canyon and Amarillo High but ahead of West Plains and Caprock. The team consisted of Travon Lewis, Kamron Brooks, Brenden Garcia and Demarcus Lewis. We can't wait to see all these boys will accomplish this track season! 🚀🏃🏿♂️😤🚀

Junior Miss Wellington 2024 Quinn Roberson would like to remind all girls the entry forms for the 2025 pageants are due in 8 days. You can turn them in at any of the three campuses.



The tennis tournament scheduled for today in Spearman has been cancelled due to weather.

A generous donor had 100 “Praying for a Rocket” pins made. If you’d like one to clip onto a lanyard, your clothing, or even keep in your vehicle, stop by the high school office or comment below and we can deliver to you. Each pin is $3, with all proceeds going to the Salinas family to help with medical expenses.
