Skyrocket baseball survives and escapes Lockney with a big district win in extra innings! 🚀⚾️ The Rockets battled for eight innings and came away with a 9-8 victory to move to 4-1 overall on the season. Wellington will be back at home this Friday at 10:00 AM as the Rockets host Clarendon. #GoRockets

Each of these outstanding educators was presented with a $100 award and certificate today by VFW Quartermaster Junior Castillo and Senior Vice Commander Johnny Davis.

Three WHS seniors represented the Skyrockets this weekend at the Golden Spread Basketball All-Star Games in Canyon! 🏀🚀 Armando Hinojosa competed for the East Team and helped lead them to a tournament championship! 🏆 Bryn Phillips and Brynlee Proffitt represented on the girls side for the North Team, coached by former Lady Skyrocket Head Coach Chris Sumrall. Brynlee Proffitt also brought home the title in the Girls 3-Point Contest! 🎯🔥 We are proud of these student-athletes for representing Wellington with class and excellence! 🚀⛹🏼‍♀️⛹🏾

Seniors Oakley Folk and Bryn Phillips were undefeated yesterday in Amarillo before having to forfeit so Bryn could represent the Lady Rockets in the Golden Spread All-Star basketball game in Amarillo. Great job girls! 🚀🎾

Freshman Anna Dwyer and sophomore Jax Heflin finished as the second place silver medalists yesterday at the Vernon Tournament hosted by Crowell High School. These two were only beaten by a really solid Crowell team. Great job Anna and Jax! 🚀🥈🎾

In the district home opener, Skyrocket baseball earns a 16-6 win over Quanah. You can see them again this Friday at 4:30 for a home game against Floydada. Way to go Skyrockets. 🚀⚾️

The Wellington FFA land judging team had a great first contest today finishing as the 2nd place team at the Ochiltree SWCD contest in Perryton. Jacy Lampe was the 2nd place 🥈individual while Anna Henard was 9th. Also on the team is Bailey Page, Heather Peters and Sophia Derr. They are coached by Drew Taylor! Congratulations! 🚀

A great day in the Spearman Tennis Tournament as the mixed doubles team of senior Noah Cantu and freshman Gannon Guy won the championship taking down 4A Perryton in the finals 8 to 6. Noah and Gannon beat teams from Pringle Morris, Gruver, Booker, Spearman and Perryton on their way to 1st place. They are coached by Amy Inman. 🚀🏆🥇🎾

Both the Skyrockets and Lady Rockets finished as 2nd place teams today in Childress, advancing to the regional tournament at Palo Duro Creek in three weeks. ⛳🚀 The Skyrocket boys team advancing to regionals includes Gunner Guy, Hunter Hedrick, Carson Kane, Carter Ouellette, and Miles Ouellette. Team two for the Rockets consisted of Major Brown, Jace Darrow, Jax Heflin, Castin Tarver, and Travis Tillman. Carter Ouellette was the individual district champion! 🥇🏆 The Lady Rockets team advancing to regionals includes Allie Duncan, Anna Dwyer, Elli Ouellette,Brynlee Proffitt, and Maggie Tillman. Hartley Kane competed as an individual. Allie Duncan earned the 2nd place silver medal individually! 🥈 Congratulations to all of our golfers on a great district tournament. Both teams are coached by Klark Ashmore. We are proud of you and look forward to watching both teams compete at regionals! 🚀

District Golf Update After Day One ⛳🚀 The Rockets and Lady Rockets are both sitting in 2nd place in the team standings after day one. The boys trail by 11 strokes, and the girls trail by 6 strokes. Individually, on the boys side, junior Carter Ouellette is currently in 1st place by 1 stroke. On the girls side, junior Maggie Tillman is in 3rd place and Allie Duncan is in 4th. The second and final day will be tomorrow in Childress. Let’s go Wellington! 🚀
