Each year the Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA) offers industry based certifications within their feed yard technician program to juniors and seniors across the state. On Monday this week, Wellington FFA had 15 seniors attend phase two of training in Wheeler. On September 26th, the seniors participated in phase one training including machinery operation, maintenance, and repair. They learned how to safely operate and maneuver wheel-loaders and skid steers. Students will complete the third and final phase next week when they take the written portion of their industry based certification test which will also include a personal interview.
In Mrs. Weinette's classroom today, her sophomore students observed Mole Day. Celebrated annually on October 23 from 6:02 a.m. to 6:02 p.m., Mole Day commemorates "Avogadro's Number": 6.02 x 1023. This number--called a mole--is a basic measuring unit in chemistry. Mole Day typically falls during National Chemistry Week. Mrs. Weinette would like to thank all the parents who provided snacks today.
