WHS had a mock election today as all high school students voted for President and United States Senator.
86.7% of the vote went for Donald J. Trump and JD Vance in the battle for the presidency.
79.3% choose Ted Cruz for US Senator.
Students were encouraged to exercise their right to vote when they become eligible. 🇺🇸❤️💙❤️💙🇺🇸

Rockets win the district championship over the Wheeler Mustangs tonight by a final score of 23 to 14! Rockets had to battle on this senior night but pulled out a win! 🚀🏈🚀
15 Wellington FFA students completed their Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA) certifications yesterday in Canyon on the campus of West Texas A&M University. They had to pass the following requirements to compete this industry based certifications:
- driving a wheel loader
- driving a skid steer
- pass a written test
- complete a job interview process
- pass 3 welds (butt weld, lap weld, and a vertical T weld)
- complete a bend test with torch
- pass a torch cutting test
This was a three day process for these students who were accompanied each time by WHS Ag teacher, Drew Taylor. Congratulations! We are so proud of each of you and love getting to honor you on senior night! 🚀
It's Senior Night as the Rockets host the Wheeler Mustangs for the district championship tonight at 7.
The senior pep rally will be at 3:15 in the high school gym where the seniors will end the pep rally by singing the alma mater.
Then at tonight's game, senior band, cheer, cross country and football members will be presented prior to the game at 6:30. Parents of these students should be lined up by 6:15. Look for Mr. Cantu and Mrs. Tillman to get you lined up in the right place.

Taytum Kane had an amazing day at the UIL State Cross Country meet in Round Rock this morning. She achieved a personal record with a time of 12:16.70 on the 2 mile course finishing in 11th place out of 151 runners. While Taytum missed the medal stand by one place, we know the future is bright for this Lady Rocket. We are so proud of you Taytum!
This week Mrs. Watts and Mrs. Ashmore’s 9th grade English students read Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Cask of Amontillado.” Then yesterday they visited the high school basement to look at the niches and tunnels. Learning is spooky and fun at WHS!
