The journey ended today at the area contest in Sudan for the WHS one act play cast and crew. Although we did not advance, we did win several individual awards. Honorable Mention All Star Cast: Ava Garcia & Maggie Tillman All Star Cast: Jackson Jones Outstanding Tech Award for Best Stage Manager: Jaci Porter Others cast members included Ceighley Killian, Miguel Rincon and Treylea Wiebe. Other crew members were Rylyn Colson, Lawson Inman, Anna Granadoz and Leslie Orozco. Our seniors Jackson Jones, Jaci Porter and Miguel Rincon leave behind a strong legacy where WHS OAP advanced to state twice during their high school tenure. Great season to all these kids and their very successful one act play director Lana Tillman. 🚀🎭🚀

The WHS cast and crew of "What I Did Last Summer" gave a solid, moving performance at the area contest today. We were the first play of the day so results will be sometime after 4 or 5pm. Great job to Director Lana Tillman and our WHS one act students! 🚀🎭🚀

Here are your results from the area track meet held in Panhandle today. Major Brown qualified for regionals in all three of his field events. He was 3rd in triple jump, 2nd in high jump setting a personal record clearing 6’4 and is the 1st place area champion in long jump also setting a personal record jumping 22’6.5. Jovani Munn qualified for regionals finishing in 3rd place in the shot put. Girls 4x100 relay team of Aleah Lewis, Kambrie Fisher, Maci Brewer and Angela Lewis got 5th one spot away from regionals. Boys 4x100 relay team of Travon Lewis, Brenden Garcia, Kam Brooks, and Troy Molina placed 3rd qualifying for regionals. Taytum Kane qualified for regionals in the 800 meter run finishing in 2nd place. Sabrina Segovia finished in 5th place. Girls 800 meter relay team of Aleah Lewis, Kambrie Fisher, Maci Brewer and Angela Lewis got 5th one spot away from regionals. Boys 800 meter relay team of Travon Lewis, Kamron Brooks, Brenden Garcia and Demarcus Lewis are your first place area champions qualifying for regionals. Major Brown was 4th place in the 110 hurdles qualifying for regionals. Anthony Ortiz is the 1st place area champion in the 400 qualifying for regionals. Major Brown was 6th and TJ Salinas 7th in the 300 hurdles. Demarcus Lewis was the 1st place area champion in the 200 qualifying for regionals. Taytum Kane was the 1st place area champion in the 1600 qualifying for regionals. Girls 1600 meter relay team of Aleah Lewis, Kambrie Fisher, Angela Lewis and Taytum Kane finished in 6th place. The District 2-2A Tournament was held yesterday in Vernon and concluded today with final matches played in Wheeler. We have three district champion teams and four total teams advancing to regionals. An asterisk denotes a regional qualifier. Wellington FFA competed in the Salt Fork NRCS land judging contest today and was the 1st place team. Trenton Wright was the 1st place individual. Also on the team was Jace Darrow, Jacy Lampe and Kenady Skelton. They are coached by Drew Taylor. Congratulations! 🚀🥇🏆🚀

Pageant practice schedule change! Little Miss contestants will still practice today from 4:00-5:00 but Junior Miss will finish at 5:30 so those who would like to attend the showing at the Ritz are able to make it. The auditorium will be open from 4-7pm on Friday, April 4th, and Saturday April 5th from 8am - 2pm.
