Yesterday, the Greenbelt District FFA elected their 2023/2024 officer team.
WHS sophomore, Lisette Vela, was elected as the Greenbelt District Treasurer for next year. Congratulations Lisette! 🚀🚀🚀

Wellington FFA had students compete in the Wichita Falls certification and weld off held April 27. We sent 11 students and had 17 certifications between them.
Placings for the welding contest were just released. There were over 1,000 students and 41 schools at the contest.
Juan Vazquez won his division and received a belt buckle as the top welder for the 2F 7018 weld position!
Eric Garcia was 3rd place in his Division and won a cap in the 2F 7018 weld position.
Addy Mock placed 6th and won a cap in her Division of the 1F 7018 weld position.

The All Sports Banquet is Monday, May 8th at 6pm. The Skyrocket Athletic Booster Club will feed all athletes and coaches immediately following the banquet in the commons.
The Academic Awards Assembly is Tuesday, May 9th at 3pm.

The Teacher Staff Appreciation Committee blessed WHS for the final time this school year with a delicious nacho bar. Thank you for making us feel loved and appreciated on National Teacher Day! At the State VASE competition over the weekend, WHS Senior, Angela Molina, got a 4 on her piece. After placing 5th in the 3200 at the regional track meet in Canyon on Friday, WHS junior, Addy Mock made the long trip to San Marcos and earned 4’s on both of her pieces. Sophomore, Jaci Porter, also represented us very well.
4 is the highest score when judged. Angela and Addy got a gold medal and are state winners. 31,000 pieces from throughout Texas competed in Vase with only 2,000 pieces chosen for State. Congratulations Angela, Addy, Jaci and art teacher Marnie Kane! 🚀🎨🏅🚀









The boys 4x200 meter relay team of Travon Lewis, Jordan Nation, Demarcus Lewis and Anthony Ortiz finished as the 3rd place bronze medalist just narrowly missing 2nd place at the Region 1-AA track meet in Canyon today. Congratulations guys! 🚀🥉🚀

Congratulations to WHS junior, Kaitlin Bawcom, for winning the 3rd 🥉 place bronze medal in discus at the Region 1-AA track meet held on the campus of WTAMU today. Kaitlin is our only medalist thus far and just narrowly missed advancing to state! 🚀🚀🚀

The Wellington FFA Land Judging Team competed at the state land judging contest today held on the Tarleton State campus in Stephenville. The team placed 25th in the State and 3rd in the area. Barret Phillips placed 28th in the State and 3rd in the Area. Heather Peters, Trenton Wright, and Summer Owens also competed. They were coached by Drew Taylor. 🚀🚀🚀
