Lady Rocket Cross Country finished in 4th place today as a team in the Canadian Invitational. Individually, Taytum Kane led the way with a 2nd place silver medalist finish. Ayz’lin Menefield also medaled in 9th place. The team is coached by Savannah Sumrall Henderson. 🚀🏃♀️🚀🏃♀️

Rockets open the football season with a big 38 to 12 win over the 3A Alpine Bucks in Abilene tonight at Shelton Stadium at Hardin Simmons University. Help us pack the stands as we have our home opener in a Texas versus Oklahoma matchup as the Frederick Bombers come to town. 🚀🏈🚀
WHS will release at noon tomorrow (Friday, August 30th). The send off is at 11:45am in front of the commons so join us as we send our Rockets off to Abilene. Also as a reminder there is no school on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. Have a great three day weekend!

We are excited about the first day of school tomorrow (Wednesday, August 14th, 2024). All students including seniors with a senior free should report to the auditorium for an 8:30am meeting. Schedules will be passed out at this time. Our district dress code will be enforced starting the first day of school. No colored hair, no piercings other than earrings for girls, boys must be cleanly shaven and hair should not be longer than the earlobe at the side. It is going to be a great year at WHS!

For a parking spot, you must have your driver’s license or permit to have first choice. You can sign up in the high school office on Tuesday, August 13th at the following times:
Seniors-11 to 11:45am
Juniors-11:45 to 12:30pm
Sophomores-12:30 to 1:15pm
Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores without a driver’s license or permit-1:15 to 2pm
All freshmen with or without a permit-2pm to 2:45pm

🚀Online registration is now open to any returning student in Wellington ISD. Students new to our district will register in person at the high school office Thursday, August 1st from 9am to noon. Please bring your child's birth certificate, immunization record and social security card. 🚀
Summer school for jr high students starts July 22-July 30th from 8:00am-3:00pm. Parents have been notified if their child is needing to attend.
