Wellington FFA had 3 students receive their Lone Star Degrees this afternoon at the Texas FFA State Convention. This is the highest degree recognition a student can receive at the state level. Congratulations to our 3 recipients! 🚀🚀🚀

Class of 2022 graduate Madison Waters walked across the stage at the Texas FFA State Convention today in Ft Worth to receive her Houston Livestock Scholarship. The scholarship is for $20,000 this year and is renewable for an additional $20,000 next year. 🚀🏆🚀

WHS student Harlee Gomez ran barrels last night at the Texas FFA State Convention rodeo. Mr. Taylor has 10 students in Ft. Worth for the state convention.



WHS junior, Kaseten Welch, has spent two week at Camp on the Coast attending acting and movement classes. He has also been cast in the final show The Monster Calls. He performed today, July 1 at 10 am at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Way to represent WHS Kaseten.


The Greenbelt Jr Golf Association for Kindergarten through 12th grades concluded today. Golfers played in tournaments the month of June on Mondays and Thursdays. Towns included Shamrock, Roaring Springs, Clarendon, Mangum, Memphis, Altus, Wellington, and Childress. Golfers had to play in 5 tournaments for final points awarded. Caleb Weinette placed 1st overall and Dakota Marshall placed 3rd overall. Congratulations to our Skyrockets! 🚀⛳️🚀

Class of 2022 graduate, Madison Waters, received the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship through the Texas FFA for the amount of $20,000. This scholarship is a contest for Texas FFA seniors competing all across Texas. Congratulations Madison! 🚀🚀🚀


Wellington FFA members attended the banquet at the Area 1 FFA Leadership Camp held at Clarendon College in Clarendon this week.

Wellington FFA members completed a three day camp at Frank Phillips College in Borger. Xcel Energy funds the camp and invites students from around the area to come and learn about electricity. Representing WHS was Barret Phillips, Kaseten Welch, and Lisette Vela.

Wellington Summer Strength Workouts Schedule
Junior High & High School Girls will start at 8 AM this Tuesday, May 31!
High School Boys will start June 6 at 7 AM. Junior High Boys will start June 6 at 8:30 AM.

Skyrocket 7 on 7 played in the state qualifier today in Childress. There were a total of 8 teams divided up into two pools of 4. Skyrockets finished second in our pool advancing to the final four. In the semi-final game, we fell to Stratford. Great job Rockets! We are ready for Friday night football. 🚀🏈🚀




WHS junior, Summer Owens, earned straight 1’s today on her piano piece to earn the gold at the UIL state and solo ensemble competition in Pflugerville. We are so proud of you Summer! What a great school year she has had! 🚀🎼🎹🏆🥇🚀
