
Wellington High School was chosen as an advancing play at the bi-district competition in Stinnett today. We picked up several individual awards.
Named honorable mention all-star cast was Israel Acosta and Summer Neufeld.
Named all-star cast was Jackson Jones and Caleb Strickland.
Named best performer/best actor of the entire competition was Kaseten Welch!
The play is under the direction of Lana Tillman and Megan Cardenas.
WHS moves on to the area competition on March 31st in Lubbock. Amazing job today to the cast and crew of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. 🚀🎭🏆🚀

Our Skyrocket golf teams have had a busy week. The girls golfed in Childress yesterday while the boys went to Borger. On Monday, Caleb Weinette golfed in Childress finishing in 4th place individually. Congratulations! 🚀⛳️🚀

Skyrocket baseball wins our second game of the Childress Tournament over Childress's JV by a final score of 15 to 9 moving to 2-0. Final game of the tournament is at 11:30 this morning against Sanford Fritch.

Rockets opened the season with an 11 to 3 win over San Jacinto in the Childress Baseball Tournament. Games tomorrow are at 9am and 11:30am. 🚀⚾️🚀

It was a great day at the District 2-2A One Act Play contest in the WHS Auditorium today. Our play, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, was chosen as an advancing play! We have advanced to the bi-district competition next Wednesday in Stinnett.
Winning best performer/best actor of the entire competition was our very own sophomore Jackson Jones.
Selected for all-star cast were Summer Neufeld and Caleb Strickland.
Selected honorable mention all-star cast was Kaseten Welch.
Winning a technical award was Brianna Aguero.

It's a busy day in Wellington ISD.
We are hosting the District 2-AA One Act Play contest in the high school auditorium with the first play scheduled to perform at 1pm. WHS will be the fourth show of the day and should take the stage around 4pm. Awards including the announcement of the three advancing plays should be around 6:30. Come support our amazing theater arts program. 🚀🎭🚀
We will also be hosting the high school division of Rocket Relays starting with field events at 1:30pm. Running finals will begin at 4pm. Come support all our athletes competing in track and field today!🚀🏃♂️🏃♀️🚀



The Wellington Tennis Tournament was held all day today and WHS was represented well. Madeleine Kane was our lone champion winning girls singles. Presley Kane and Bryn Phillips finished 2nd in girls doubles while the mixed doubles team of Summer Owens and Carson Tarver also finished in 2nd place. Coach Inman ran a great tournament today. The Skyrocket golf team finished in 4th place in the Memphis tournament today. Individually, Caleb Weinette tied for first finishing as the 2nd place medalist after a playoff while Blake Strickland finished as the 5th place medalist. Others on the team with Caleb and Blake include Dalton Holland, Travis Tillman, Caleb Strickland, Hunter Stark, Conner Kane and Major Brown. Congratulations Skyrocket golf! 🚀⛳️🚀

Coached by Klark Ashmore, the Lady Rocket golf team finished 3rd today in Memphis. Individually, Briley Waters was the 5th place medalist. Others on the team with Briley include Kaitlin Bawcom, Kendra Bawcom, Emma Flores, Shaylee Neeley, Summer Neufeld and Brynlee Proffitt. Congratulations! 🚀⛳️🚀




It was a great day in the Area VASE competition today at the Arts in the Sunset Complex in Amarillo today. All five of our students including Abby Garcia, Angela Molina, Addy Mock, Shaylee Neeley, and Jaci Porter advanced to area. They are taught by Marnie Kane!
Out of the five that advanced to area, Addy Mock had two pieces that advanced to state while Angela Molina and Jaci Porter each had one. Addy, Angela and Jaci are state bound.
In between judging, the five students got to participate in workshops. It was a great day and we are very proud of all five of our artistic students. 🚀🎨🎖️🏅🚀











Our co-district and bi-district champion Rockets end an incredible season in the area championship falling to the state's #3 ranked Farwell Steers by a final score of 45 to 62. We are proud of you Rockets!
